New and Improved 2 Cents Gaming Podcast!

Right Click, and Save as.  or click and listen.

The first podcast for 2 Cents Gaming is now up and running.  This week we talked at length about Smash Bros. Brawl, and a C.Net article with the 30 worst game titles of all time.   This podcast clocks in at around 53 minutes.  I hope in later podcasts, unless its a special occasion,  to have no less than 30 minutes, but no more than an hour, as I feel interests begins to wane after the first hour.

So now I will touch on some things that have been asked on our forums about our podcasts.

If you wish to join us, we usually get together around 8 pm on Saturdays.  You will need Skype to be able to join us, and it goes without saying, you’ll need a mic as well.  To not get too bogged down with people joining us, I would like to keep the number of people involved to around 1 “guest” per week.  Anymore than that it it becomes a clustertruck. (listen to podcast to understand that “typo”)  I will be putting the new 2 cents gaming podcast forum up momentarily, and it can be used to volunteer for a podcast.  First come, first serve.  It will also be used to suggest any topics you would like us to opine about.

I hope you all enjoy this podcast, and I will try to keep it concise and fun for as long as I am able.

WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2009 officially unveiled

March 30th, 2008 Russdogg |

Over at IGN.com, THQ officially unveiled this year’s Smackdown vs RAW. And it sounds very promising. Excert from the IGN article:

On the Xbox 360, PS3, PSP and PS2, the biggest change in the action will come with a strong focus on tag teams. For the first time ever, players will be able to team up for co-op storylines in the Road to WrestleMania mode and take advantage of an overhauled tag structure to earn attributes on their way to the top. Tag teams — both in and out of Road to WrestleMania — will utilize the same momentum meter, break opponents with double team finishers and make “hot tags” for the win. Also making its debut will be Create-A-Finisher, which allows fans to choose from more than 500 animations in their quest to build the ultimate move. Specifically on the 360 and PS3, fans can look for the debut of SVR downloadable content, although THQ is mum about what it might be.

Co-op season mode? Create-A-Finisher? DLC at last? All I can say is…hot damn!

Round Up 3-27-08. Less Daily but more information!

March 27th, 2008 Wayne |

I’ve found that it is hard to do a daily round up of gaming news due mostly to the fact that on some days, there is nothing notable to report.  So from now on, I’ll be doing a round up at least “weekly” unless there is more information daily, in which I’ll go back to daily.  So with that, onto the news!

Def Leppard to appear in Guitar hero 4!!! Wait…4?

March 27th, 2008 Wayne |

guitar hero news reports that Def Leppard will have 3 songs in Guitar Hero 4…Confirming that the lifespan for a GH game is approximately 3 weeks after release.  Not saying it isn’t cool that Def Leppard will be in GH4 (it is)  However, it continues the trend of hardly any support after the initial game is released.  I know they want original stuff for the next game, but their relative lack of DLC for the current GH is rather appalling.   Alot of people are moving towards the Rock Band formula. (By this I mean end users) So it still surprises me that Activision doesn’t at least make an effort towards some semblance of a “formula” for DLC like Harmonix/EA/MTV have achieved.  Oh well, I’m sure GH4 will get sales, but it would be nice to see Developers/Publishers at least try harder in the face of competition.

Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun Li movie details

March 26th, 2008 Wayne |

IGN is reporting the cast so far for the next Street Fighter movie.  While most of you know good and well that I am a Chun Li fanatic and seeing Kristin Kreuk in  Chun Li’s outfit on the big screen, I just do not have much faith in this, considering the butcheroisty that was the first one, with Jean Paul lucarde or some such has been.   So it’ll either really suck, or be mildly entertaining, but I doubt it’ll hit the unattainable goal of “good”.  That is though, just my opinion.

Rock Band coming to Wii June 22nd.

March 24th, 2008 Wayne |

Miracles do happen for those who wait it seems.  Kotaku reports that the bundle will come to the Wii on June 22nd and will retail for$170.  No immediate plans for DLC for the Wii, however with Wiiware coming out to facilitate content downloads later this year, It’s not outside the realm of possibility that DLC will come eventually.  And I gotta say, I like the color of the white drums.  I know most people here at 2CG already have this for the 360, but I’ve always felt that diversity is best, so letting Wii owners in on the fun is a good thing, in my opinion.

Master Chief on PS3?! ZOMG HAX!

March 24th, 2008 Wayne |

Okay, don’t panic too much.  This is a mod for Unreal Tournament  3 for PS3, as found on the Game Trailer Forums.

They also have skins of FF7 characters, Gears of War, and a few others, check it out.  This works because you can use mods from the PC version of UT3 on the PS3, and I’d say it’s kinda cool.  I sometimes wish 360 games would be more customizable.
