Rock Band 2 Announced, hate to say I told you so.
It Seems IGN has some information about Rock Band 2.
Good news is you WILL be able to use your old DLC from Rock Band 1 in Rock Band 2, so that will calm alot of nerves on that front.
Now really, anyone who thought there would not be a Rock Band 2, considering who the publisher is, was fooling themselves. However, I think this will be a good thing, as it seems they will be adding new features such as ONLINE band world tour (thank god) and possibly new peripherals? One thing of note was the statement saying a guitarist and singer can be one in the same now, so no more creating 2 characters to do what you were possibly only doing yourself.

Sounds good. Just because RB2 may sound prone to disappointment, doesn’t remove from the fact that these are the guys who made Rock Band so great.

Totally not surprised in the least. And I friggin’ knew they were holding back new features and updates for RB2, rather than just simply update the current game.
On the one hand it’ll nice to have all the new features and stuff for a much better play experience, online and off. But on the other hand, this feels like it’s going the way of the GH series: throwing out a new game every year for $60 a pop. I was really hoping they’d stay away from doing that. Ah well, at least I don’t have to buy instruments over again.

I don’t know if I’ll be picking this up. They had it right the first time, continue the game through regularly released DLC.

Think of RB2 as more of an expansion than a standalone game. It’ll atleast have more stuff to do online, and you already have the instruments.

What’s next, the keyboard?

I actually thought a 10-key keyboard would be awesome… plenty of songs have Keyboard, or at least special sound effects. Add a pedal and you’ve got the whammy bar equivalent.
